# How do I make a seed phrase with dice?

> Roll a die 253 times for words 1–23 (1–3 = 0, 4–6 = 1, 11 rolls per word), then let an offline SeedSigner calculate word 24.

## Steps

1. Print the BIP-39 English list. Word 1 is abandon, 2048 is zoo.
2. Draw 23 rows of 11 boxes. Columns: 1024 512 256 128 64 32 16 8 4 2 1.
3. Roll for every box. 1–3 → 0. 4–6 → 1. Never re-roll.
4. Add the column values above each 1. Add 1. Look up that word.
5. On SeedSigner: Tools → Calc 12th/24th word → 24 words. Enter 23 words, then 3 coin flips.
6. Write the fingerprint. Re-enter all 24 words. Same fingerprint? Good.
7. Stamp it on steel. Burn the worksheet.

**Faster way?**

**Can I pick the last word myself?**
No. Part of it is a checksum. It has to be calculated, offline.

**Which dice?**
Casino dice with sharp edges. Rounded ones can favour numbers.
